THE
AUTHORS
LINDA A. CARSON
Linda is thrilled to have Mum’s The Word return to Scotland
because her father, Ronald Campbell Carson was born and raised there.
She is a graduate of Canada’s renowned Studio 58 acting program
and has been a professional actor, clown and writer for the past
sixteen years. Linda’s first play "Dying To Be Thin"
won a Jessie Richardson Award in Vancouver. Linda lives with her
husband and two sons in St. Catherine's, Ontario where she continues
to write and act.

Canada. Immediately after completing her training she began a career
which has spanned 20 years thus far. Jill has worked as a writer
and actor in theatre, film, television and radio.
ROBIN NICHOL
Robin holds an MFA in directing and has been stage managing, directing,
workshopping, and occasionally creating new Canadian plays since
1984. For three years she was the Associate Artistic Director at
the New Play Centre in Vancouver, and has kept busy the rest of
the time freelancing and reproducing. Most recently she has been
directing and/or teaching acting at several colleges in British
Columbia, and considering the frightful implications of the onset
of puberty.
DEBORAH WILLIAMS
Deborah is an insightful writer/performer/director known by her
dark eye for comedy and her willingness to spill her guts in the
name of art or at least for the price of a laugh. She is a graduate
of the acclaimed Studio 58 acting program in Vancouver, Canada.
BARBARA POLLARD
A professional in theatre, film and television for over 30 years,
Barbara enjoyed the thrill of doing the role she created for Mum's
The Word in Scotland's sold out tour of 2002. A former member of
Stratford Shakespearean Festival (Canada), she now resides in Vancouver
where she works as an actress, director, writer, teacher and creator.
She has made thousands or people laugh, inspired hundreds of students,
helped produce two magnificent children but, sadly, has never mastered
pastry.
ALISON KELLY
Alison Kelly is a graduate of Studio 58 in Vancouver, Canada. She
has been working as an actor, writer, street performer and acting
teacher for the past 15 years. Alison lives in a very messy house
in North Vancouver with her husband and two children. She fantasizes
about living in a tidy house and spending her days gardening.
